Hydrostatic pressure effects on rabbit and echinoderm myosin ATPase.

چکیده
When saturated with ATP, sea cucumber myosin hydrolyzes ATP about 15 times more slowly than rabbit myosin, as expected from the slower contraction time of the muscle. The Arrhenius plots coincide at low temperatures, but only the rabbit plot changes slope at higher temperatures. This unexpected change in slope apparently results from the use of Verona1 buffer. At high substrate concentrations in Verona1 buffer, the enzymatic activities of the two proteins depend identically on calcium ion and on pH. The two myosins are equally inhibited by pressure at low pH and activated at high, suggesting that structural features common to the two enzymes are responsible for pressure sensitivity and its pH dependence.

Effects of hydrostatic pressure and temperature on the AlGaN/GaN High electron mobility transistors
In this paper, drain-source current, transconductance and cutoff frequency in AlGaN/GaN high electron mobility transistors have been investigated. In order to obtain parameters of exact AlGaN/GaN high electron mobility transistors such as electron density, the wave function, band gap, polarization charge, effective mass and dielectric constant, the hydrostatic pressure and temperature effects a...
متن کاملAdenosinetriphosphatase activity of cardiac myosin. Comparison of the enzymatic activities and activation by actin of dog cardiac, rabbit cardiac, rabbit white skeletal and rabbit red skeletal muscle myosins.
Examination of the ATPase activities of rabbit cardiac, rabbit red skeletal and rabbit white skeletal muscle myosins has demonstrated the existence of two types of myosin. One type, characterized by the higher ATPase activity, is present in white skeletal muscle; the other is found in red skeletal and cardiac muscle. The differences between myosin preparations could not be attributed to varying...
متن کاملThe role of Na+-K+-ATPase in the basic and rate-dependent properties of isolated perfused rabbit Atrioventricular Node
Introduction: Ouabaine is a well-known atrioventricular (AV) node depressant agent, but its effects on functional properties of the AV node have not been cleared. The aim of the present study was to determine how ouabaine administration modifies the rate-dependent properties of the AV node. Methods: Selective stimulation protocols were used to quantify independently electrophysiological prop...
متن کاملP-28: Hydrostatic Pressure Induced Cell Deathin Cumulus Cells and Improved In vitro Maturationof Oocytes from Preovulatory Follicles
Background: Cryopreservation of ovaries is an important technique in assisted reproduction technology. Physical forces like hydrostatic pressure have a pivotal role in reproduction systems. Due to changes in intrafollicular pressure during ovulatory process, this study designed to examine the effects of hydrostatic pressure on oocyte maturation and cell death in cumulus cells from cryopreserved...
متن کاملProperties of atrial and ventricular myosin in mammals of various size.
Myosin was isolated from atria and ventricles of adult rats, rabbits and pigs, and characterized by ATPase activities, the effects of temperature on the latter, the influence of alkaline preincubation on enzymatic activity and by electrophoretic fractionation of myosin peptides. It was shown that ventricular myosins are clearly distinguished by their ATPase activities and their response to pH a...
